THE PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT MR ARMAN DILANYAN HAD A MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE VENICE COMMISSION MS CLAIRE BAZY MALAURIE
On 8 June 2022, the President of the Constitutional Court Mr Arman Dilanyan held a meeting with the President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) Ms Claire Bazy Malaurie, who had arrived in the Republic of Armenia on an official visit at the invitation of the High Court.
At the opening of the meeting, Mr Arman Dilanyan expressed gratitude to Ms Claire Bazy Malaurie for accepting the invitation and arriving in Armenia on an official visit. The President of the Constitutional Court attached importance to the further development of the traditionally active cooperation with the Venice Commission and stressed the commitment of the Constitutional Court to continue the effective partnership within the framework of the Joint Council of Constitutional Justice.
In her turn, the President of the Venice Commission Ms Claire Bazy Malaurie expressed gratitude for the extended invitation to pay a visit to Yerevan and for the provided warm reception, noting that her official visit would facilitate the expansion and deepening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Ms Claire Bazy-Malaurie noted that the Venice Commission is willing to enhance cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia and the Commission is ready to consider the implementation of joint initiatives in the future.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the agenda of further cooperation aimed to the promotion of democracy, protection of human rights and the rule of law.
