In 1996 Graduated from the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University.

In 2004 Completed post-graduate studies at the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University: the topic of the research - "International Courts and Issues of Peaceful Settlement of Interstate Disputes".

    Served as the Assistant to the Vice President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • November 2004 – April 2006
    Served as the Chief Specialist at the the Legal Advisory Service (Department) at the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • April 2006 – September 2012
    Served as Head of the Division of Analysis of Individual Applications at the Legal Advisory Service (Department) at the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • September 2012 - April 2013
    Served as the Acting Head of the Legal Advisory Service (Department) at the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • 12 December 2013
    Upon the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia was appointed to the position of the Judge at the Administrative Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • 13 September 2018
    Elected by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to the position of the Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
  • 12 October 2020
    Elected at the procedural session of the Constitutional Court as the President of the Constitutional Court for a term of six years.
  • From 2006 till
    Teaches at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University (course subjects: "International Law", "International Justice").
  • From 2006 to 2013
    Served as the Chairperson of the Chair on International and European Law at the Law Faculty of the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.
  • From 2015 till now
    Teaches at the School of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia.
  • From 2018 till now
    Teaches at the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University (course subjects: “Administrative Proceedings” and “Impact of the Decisions of the Constitutional Court on the Legal System of the Republic of Armenia”).

OTHER INFORMATION

President Dilanyan authored scientific articles and publications on the international law, administrative law and constitutional justice.
On 28 April 2017, he was elected by the General Assembly of the Union of Judges of the Republic of Armenia to the position of the Member of the Council at the “Union of Judges of the Republic of Armenia”.
President Dilanyan is married and has two sons.
