JUSTICE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT Y. KHUNDKARYAN PAID A WORKING VISIT TO ST. PETERSBURG
On June 25-29, 2024, at the invitation of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, Justice of the Constitutional Court Yervand Khundkaryan paid a working visit to St. Petersburg.
Yervand Khundkaryan participated in the International Conference on the "Protection of Rights and Constitutional Review", which was held in St. Petersburg. The Conference was attended by the representatives of the high courts of 24 countries and international professional organizations, and included two sessions on the following topics: "Initiation/Institution of Constitutional Review with the Aim to Ensure Constitutional Rights and Freedoms", and "Protection of Rights and Freedoms as the Result of Constitutional Review".
Within the framework of the visit, Justice of the Constitutional Court Yervand Khundkaryan participated in the activities of the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Control Bodies, and a number of issues, inter alia, the criteria for the admissibility of constitutional complaints, and the cooperation with the mass media were referred to.
Justice of the Constitutional Court Yervand Khundkaryan also participated in the Seminar on "The Law and the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence", which was held within the framework of the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF). The Business Programme of SPILF 2024 included nine thematic sections, and included more than 120 panel sessions with the participation of 700 speakers.
The main theme of the Forum was the "Law: The Foundation of Global Balance", which brought together more than 5000 representatives of legal, judicial, political circles, international professional organizations, educational, scientific institutions, and the mass media from almost 80 countries.
