DELEGATION FROM THE CONGRESS OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL AUTHORITIES OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE WAS HOSTED AT THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
On 15 April 2026, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia hosted the representatives of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CoE). The delegation arrived in Armenia as part of a monitoring visit organized by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. The visit aims to assess the implementation of the European Charter of Local Self-Government in the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the guests, the President of the Constitutional Court, Arman Dilanyan, presented the specifics of the activities of the High Court and addressed the application of the European Charter within the framework of the administration of constitutional justice in the Republic of Armenia.
Upon the request of the guests, the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court, Edgar Shatiryan, presented the decisions of the Constitutional Court that may relate to the application of the European Charter.
During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed with the representatives of the Congress — co-rapporteurs on Armenia, Jonathan Denis (United Kingdom) and Katrien Partyka (Belgium), Executive Secretary Stéphanie Poirel, and expert Tania Groppi.
The representatives of the Congress expressed gratitude for the productive meeting.
