THE PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA MET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE VENICE COMMISSION

On 30 January 2026, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Dilanyan, held a meeting in Strasbourg with Marta Cartabia, President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), and Simona Granata-Menghini, Secretary of the Venice Commission.

During the meeting, current issues in the judicial and legal sphere were touched upon, in particular, the application of artificial intelligence tools in the administration of justice, cybersecurity, and the challenges emerging alongside the development of information technologies, as well as possible ways of overcoming them. The President of the Constitutional Court, Arman Dilanyan, highly appreciated the effective and ongoing cooperation with the Venice Commission, emphasizing the importance of the Venice Commission’s amicus curiae briefs in shaping domestic legislation and legal practice.

The President of the Venice Commission, Marta Cartabia, expressed gratitude to the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia for the substantive discussion, stressing that the Venice Commission considers the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia a strong partner and ally committed to democratic values and the principle of the rule of law.
