On March 26, 2024, the delegation of the Constitutional Court led by the Constitutional Court’s Vice-President, Justice Vahe Grigoryan visited the International Criminal Court (the Hague, Netherlands). The delegation was composed of Justices Seda Safaryan and Edgar Shatiryan, as well as several employees of the Court’s staff.

The delegation of the Constitutional Court was hosted by the President of the Appeals Division of the International Criminal Court, Judge Gocha Lordkipanidze. He welcomed the delegation of the Constitutional Court, noting that this is the first judicial delegation from Armenia to the ICC. During the meeting, the parties addressed the peculiarities of consideration of cases at the ICC, and the importance of dialogue between the courts on the effective application of the provisions of the Rome Statute in both national and international legal frameworks.

At the end of the visit, a meeting was held with the President of the ICC, Judge Tomoko Akane, during which the Constitutional Court’s Vice-President and the President of the ICC exchanged greetings to the two courts, and Justice Vahe Grigoryan, taking the opportunity, congratulated Judge Tomoko Akane on her election to the post of the President of the ICC in March 2024.
